Apple? That's the red one, right?
Apple — By corey on June 11, 2008 at 9:36 pmSo, let me be up front with you readers out there – I don’t care much for Apple. I’m not looking to bash them; I just don’t use their products. A great deal of the software I work with on a regular basis isn’t available on Macs, and I get enough smudges on my cell phone as it is when it doesn’t require me to touch it all the time. So with all the buzz going on about WWDC, it’s hard for me to get all that excited.
That’s not to say there isn’t a lot of worthwhile stuff being discussed that may directly affect you, the consumer. With Apple products such as the iPod and the iPhone selling in stupid amounts (iGag), it’s handy to keep your finger on the pulse of the WWDC. Developers get some of their biggest inspirations at conferences as they’re introduced to ideas and approaches to software development they may not have considered before. It’s a time when Apple can show the guys making your GPS software and e-mail applications what they’re doing right, what they’re doing wrong, and how they can do it better.
Yup. Apple has the spotlight this month. And rightfully so, as countless cool things will develop from the think tank that is the WWDC. But since I’m inept when it comes to the shiny red fruit and words that begin with a lower-case ‘i’, I find myself resigned to keep it short and say keep your eyes out for what develops. In the meanwhile, I’d like to link you to a nice article that goes over the accessories included with the upcoming iPhone 3G. If you’re a current iPhone user looking to upgrade, or looking to pop your Apple cherry in lieu of Blackberry (a fruit pun, ha!), then check it out!
