Blackberry's answer to the iPhone?
Cell Phones — By Andrew on June 10, 2008 at 9:46 pmEngadget has a nice shot of Blackberry’s new touchscreen RIM phone. It’s called the Thunder. Now if you’re like me and not an Apple fan boy (thank you Corey!), you can look forward to something other than the next portable device derived from the souls that satan himself pulled from this earth.
Now about this Thunder… My first look at it leads me to believe..
It’s a little too button-y. I mean it is a touch screen, do you need to touch other spots? I guess just like your significant other, there are some things they or you like best (my personal preference is the mind), and the convenience of those keys does make some sense, but a touch screen needs to be touched, hence it’s ingenious name.
Just as Engadget says in the post, the Blackberry Bold’s included OS does look purrrdy though.. Depending on it’s usability in both a regular scroll ball and touch screen scenario, we could have 3 potentionally strong mobile Operating systems on our hands within the next year. Apple’s (which already has a strangehold thanks to millions of cult followers even David Koresh would have nothing on), Google’s Android (as Corey recently preped us on), and the new Blackberry OS.
Lets hope for the best, especially since I can easily get a new Blackberry to help “Support” it >:D
Stay tuned for more information about the iPhone all week! (Just none from me!)
