And The Results Are In! iPhone Battery Tests Rundown
Apple, Cell Phones — By corey on July 15, 2008 at 5:25 pmThe folks at Gizmodo have done a lovely job of rounding up all of the battery tests performed on the new iPhone 3G this week. The results are varied, namely due to the ridiculous combination of things you could be doing with it. One thing that rang true in all tests, however, is that as far as 3G connectivity is concerned, the new iPhone is proving to be a contender. That is, as far as talk time goes. When you start to factor in more power-hungry activities such as games, the numbers get a little fuzzy. But if you’re only looking to yack into your yack box, you can expect an average of 5 and half hours of talk time.
The figures aren’t nearly as impressive as the first generation’s battery figures, which could peak at over 9 hours of talk time. Of course, there was no 3G, either. For the full list of figures along with some commentary from each of the testers, check out the full article: Nine iPhone 3G Battery Life Test Results
