Light Graffiti
Randomness — By kurteng on January 9, 2009 10:23 amThere are pretty good chances you’ve seen the following commerical on TV:
Looks cool, right? That is light graffiti, a new art form that is starting to make a much bigger impact on the way we see light in photos and video. I’ve recently become very interested in making some light graffiti photos of my own and a great place to start is instructables.com. Here, they have hundreds of how-to articles with support from their community. I’ll get more into Instructables later, but for now, here is a how-to article on how to build your own LED lights to make your own pens. Alternatively, you could purchase LED key ring lights at PhotonLight.com. You can opt for a light with or without a switch but with these key chain lights, after you make your photos, you can just slap it on your keys and it will serve a dual purpose!
But one of the biggest pieces of equipment you’ll need is a good camera. You will need manual settings to increase your exposure and change aperture and shutter speeds of your camera. Lightdoodle is another great place to go to find step by step tutorials. Granted it will take a lot of time and practice, but I’m sure the pictures will be well worth it.
Once you get your settings for your camera right, you are now able to draw/write!
A great gallery of pictures at Toxel via Digg but I’ve chosen a couple of my favorites below! Enjoy!
