LOST and Gone for Nine Months…
TV — By Dave on May 13, 2009 11:05 pmI’ve mentioned it plenty of times before, but I’m a LOST fanatic. I’ve missed a grand total of three episodes in the five seasons that the show has been on the air – the premier because I didn’t think it looked very good in the previews (yes, I’m an idiot) and two episodes when I was flying. I’ve actually rescheduled flights to avoid being in the air when the show came on.
So, tonight’s season finale provides both a reason for celebration (Two hours! Plus an hour-long clip show before the finale starts! Hooray!) and for mourning (No new episodes for nine months… withdrawals… no reruns to help carry over… boooooooooo)
After one of the best seasons of the series, LOST is closing up shop until they return next January for the sixth and final season. There are a number of storyline loopholes still left to be closed, like what is the smoke monster, why do pregnant women die during childbirth on the island (I’ve got a pretty good idea about this one…), what is the four-toed statue and what does it represent, and still – what are those damned numbers about?
I’m hoping one or more of these questions gets answered tonight, but more likely I’m expecting vague answers that don’t really answer anything, but instead setup even more mysteries to be exposed and finally answered in the final season.
Either way, I’ll be watching.
