For Your PC Consideration

How To..., PCs — By kurteng on April 22, 2010 at 2:47 pm

All computers are prone to viruses, malfunctions and crashes. But how well do you trust your anti-virus software? Or your actual physical components like your computer fan or hard drive? Well you are in luck! Lifehacker has a couple of stories to really help you out; what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s really really ugly.

For finer details, please click the picture which will bring you directly to the Lifehacker story.

As for the ugly… your anti-virus protection.  How many of you still use Windows XP?  And if you still do, how many of you have McAfee?  Did you recently update your anti-virus profiles like a good computer user?  If you did and your computer shut down, it is because McAfee screwed up!  They actually made a mistake and disabled all Windows XP computers.  How can something like this happen?  Especially with an anti-virus company that is so big and trusted as McAfee.  If you are on another computer, you can read about the “fiasco” here and how to fix it here (both from LifeHacker)
