Tonight, I’ll be attending MegaTweetup at Microsoft NERD in Cambridge.  This is a huge social media event that is bound to break records and should be an awesome time.  I won’t be live blogging but I hope to get some pics.  And all proceeds go to Dana Farber Cancer Institute so hurry up!

Finally, there is PAX East 2010.  As an avid gamer (PC), and an avid comic reader (Penny Arcade eXpo), I am really looking forward to this 3day event.  I’m hoping to get a media pass and live blog a lot of the sessions so stay tuned in March for this awesome 30,000 LAN (local area network) party (LAN parties are people who  network computers to play games).

I’ll be on vacation from December 18th to January 3rd so I will be working on updating the site and the look.  So stay tuned for the new TNMS!

In other news, I am trying to help organize the first ever WordCamp Boston.  It will be a day full of WordPress issues, support, topics, CMS, SEO and hopefully I’ll be able to give a presentation for beginners (wordpress.com vs. wordpress.org; hosts/servers; plugins; setup) and to have a seat at our own “experts bar” for more hands-on support.  If you use WordPress, I would highly advise pre-registering for this event on January 23rd as the price of the tickets will go up at the end of December.

"In this presentation I will give a high level overview of how WordPress can be customized through custom plugins. I will walk through the creation of a very simple plugin in PHP, the default development language for WordPress. I will then present HookPress (http://mitcho.com/cod…) which is a plugin of mine which adds webhooks to WordPress, letting developers extend WordPress in languages other than PHP, such as ruby, python, perl, etc."
