You Suck at Photoshop is a series of videos that aim to teach you how to use Photoshop to the programs moderate potential.  If you have ever used Photoshop, this program is not for the faint at heart.  It can get very very complicated if you just try and fool around with it.

Well, these “tutorial” videos are full of informative material as well as some fictional plot/dialogue.  I want to emphasize fictional as although the narrator may sound true and sincere, these series are all scripted.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the language is not for the faint at heart.

Grumble, grumble, grumble… If you are going to make videos for YouTube or Viddler, Vimeo or Blip.tv, get a Flip. Better audio and much much better video quality. I think people are drawn to the Nano purely because it is tiny and “it can play music.” Yes it is convenient since it is an all in one package, but as I stated before, how much video can you record once you’ve added about 12GB of music and photos? And are you really going to be making videos everyday? I’m sure you can use your camera on your cellphone… The Flip is still small enough to carry in your backpack so stop complaining!

The Xpal XP8000 (Amos) from Energizer provides portable battery power (see hours below) to many small peripherals, iPhones/cell phones, iPods/mp3 players as well as netbooks. But the best part about this portable power is the free tips for life. Not really free… you do need to pay for shipping and handling and you only get 2 a year. But it isn’t like you need a lot since they do give you about 15 tips to begin with… and you can use your current USB power cable to charge devices. Otherwise, this was a great buy, fits neatly in my leather portfolio with my netbook and digital camera. Everything I need for a conference.

By the way, it also worked nicely with my camcorder…

So Netflix has already been streaming to the XBox and to Roku, but now Blockbuster has just released their own video streaming player.  A little behind the game with both mailed DVD rentals, they are also behind the game on video streaming hardware.  Gizmodo has a review of the 2Wire device that allows you to purchase videos to rent that will stream to your box and watch on your TV.  Is this anything to be excited about?  Giz doesn’t think so:

The comparison that often came to mind is this Blockbuster 2Wire is the equivalent of a stock cable DVR, rather than the TiVo that most set-top boxes aspire to mimic.

If you ask me, if you need to pay $4 for a movie while subscribing to a movie rental delivery service, it isn’t worth it. Just stick with Netflix and buy and XBox360. The prices have come down quite a bit!
